What would the consequences of imposing price controls on gas be?

What is your personal opinion about imposing controls? What would the consequences of imposing price controls on gas be?
You cannot put price controls on gasoline,

Unless you can put price controls on OIL first.

Since the price of oil, is what drives the price of gasoline.

Chevron just released its first quarter economic report.

Cheverons profit from it's refining division,

Are down 84% from the 1st quarter last year.

Cheveron made lots of money,

But it wasn't from refining gasoline. What would the consequences of imposing price controls on gas be?
Price controls lead to shortages because any bidder in the country is the low bidder. Basically it makes us the last place anybody wants to sell gas. If a company can sell it for more in another country, it will.
Price controls lead to shortages. Gas taxes, on the other hand, are an artificial government interference into the economy and should be repealed or reduced.
IT's a great idea, particularly if it had teeth. It would lower the price of gasoline. it would never happen though with Bush/McCain
We get cheaper gasoline.

The oil companies are getting a percentage profit of each dollar spent rather then a set profit per gallon.
Welcome to rationing.
