Oil is traded on a WORLD market. Bush does not control the price of oil or gas..why do people think he does?

Some retards misread my last question, so i rephrased it. WHY do people think Bush controls the price of gas, when he has no control over the price of oil. Do people realize that the price of a gallon of gas in Germany is $9 a gallon. And is $8 in Japan...etc...Bush and the government for that matter has no control over prices in the fair market.Oil is traded on a WORLD market. Bush does not control the price of oil or gas..why do people think he does?
Blame the media, the public school system, over protective moms, and tree hugging liberals who think they they know everything because they took a highschool history class but they were really stoned half of the class anywaysOil is traded on a WORLD market. Bush does not control the price of oil or gas..why do people think he does?
You are right. Trouble is most people get their information from word of mouth from others who don't know how the markets work.

Let me add and support your information on the price of gasoline. In Venezula gasoline is going for 19 cents per gallon. In Iran its going for 34 cents a gallon. In Saudi Arabia it is 45 cents a gallon. The price of gasoline in Germany, France, Great Britain and other European countries is very high because of the high tax structure to support immigration and univeral health care.
I believe that people blame Bush for several reasons.

First, he has direct and incontrovertiable ties to oil companies that create, at the very least, an illusion of impropriety.

Second, he's incharge and therefore, whether it is his fault or not, when he ran for President he had to accept that he will get both the credit and the blame for successes and failures whether he is responsible at all. Quite frankly, just like the captain of a ship, the President gets all the blame for how things are going in America, good or bad, because it is his responsibility to govern and lead and no one elses. He signed up for it.

Third, U.S. intervention in Iraq is seen, whether justly or not, as a key reason for the rise in oil prices.

Fourth, Bush heads the world's biggest economy and most powerful military. Consequently, he carries a big stick. I think on some level, Americans see Bush's inaction as a lack of caring or refusal to do anything to help them. American's know we have the big stick and they see Bush unwilling to use it, and they wonder, 'you're the guy who is so tough on terror and willing to challenge anybody on that issue, yet you won't help the average Joe by taking the big stand on oil prices with these terrorist countries like Saudi Arabia?'

Fifth, I think the fact that oil companies are posting record breaking profits is seen to be tied directly to the government, whether or not that's true.
Are you nuts? Most of Bush's associates are oil CEO's. With all of the corruption in this administration you think Bush isn't screwing the American people with oil prices?

Isn't it also convenient Bush gave Haliburton a no-bid contract for the Iraq war. He owns stock in the company and Cheney used to be their VP. Only a complete moron couldn't connect the dots.

Do you any common sense or are you a complete moron?

How would you feel if Obama had ties to oil and a history of documented corrupt dealing and suddenly the price of oil doubled? I bet you'd crap your overalls.
Beause a huge reason for the increases in the price of oil is the instability Mr Bush has caused in the middle east. There are other reasons but he has made the problem worse. Just think world oil is set to reach peak production in 2008 (we will have consumed half of the worlds easily available oil) meaning that Oil will become harder and harder to find, prices are gonna go out of this world in the future.
Well some people say he is in charge, and want to blame some one so why not bush? Well bush is the guy who goes to the places our fuel comes from and tries to negotate the price, he seems to do a good job, but i personally think it should be $9 a gallon it will teach people to conserve fuel (and not to buy hummers)
Because he is from Texas and his brother Neil is in the nasty oil business so he must be controlling the price to help out his brother. Who knows the weak minded will always believe what they are told by the mass media, its a whole lot easier than thinking for themselves.
You should know he does have the ability to shut down 10% of the world's oil reserves by not letting Iraq export... He is the head of the economy that sets world commodity prices. He contributed to ruining it.
I don't know anyone who thinks Bush has direct control of the price of oil. However, INDIRECTLY, by destabilizing the Middle East, he has had a hand in the sharp rises in the price of oil.
Some people, if they hear a couple of other people say it, they will jump on the bandwagon and believe it without doing the research and finding out the facts.
Bush derangement syndrome can affect ones ability to think clearly and act rationally.
Don't forget that There are countries in South America that only pay .14 cents a gallon!!

Because The Media and Far left have people so brainwashed that they can't see through all the smug.
The price of oil %26amp; gas is controlled domestically, as well.

Check out TX politics to find out how.
If they can blame Bush for anything they're in. Facts are secondary.
Because that's what they are used to doing. They blame Bush for everything, whether it's his fault or not.
Because they are uneducated!
People want to place the blame of anything on Bush. It goes to show you that people really are clueless.
Why? Because people are idiots.
