Price Control?

In Trinbago what are the tops 5 items that needs urgent price control on them. My picks are:





1. Basic Food Items


2. Real Estate


3. KFC - Doubles - Roti


4. Vehicles (imagine it cheaper to buy a new vehicle and import it yuhself than to buy if from a dealership!)


5. Transportation - why do I have to pay $5.00 to get into Diego - to go Arima which is further only cost one dollar more!





What r your top 5Price Control?
Well I think you covered almost everything here man curious... the basic needs are food clothing and shelter....





And while I agree that prices of somethings are just inevitably high... I think that price control will help to crackdown on some stuf


We need price controls definitely for


1. Food - ah pack ah dairy dary is 80 something dollars and klim is ah hundred an change





2. Construction material...long time yuh coulda bill ah house with 250 000 now the average house cossing 2 million





3. Transportation - is ture gyul... gas went up once by 7 cents and all dem taxis an dem raise they fare consistently fuh THREE years by ah dollar! what de jail goin on dey

But is true...


Me ain't old but I remember back in form one around dey we used tuh pay 13 dollars for a snack packPrice Control?
We Islanders face the same problem so many other countries have faced. Until we become self sufficent in producing our own food, we will be paying over the odds for what is in the shops.





Part of our problem is we want that Kellogs corn flakes, or that bottle of French or Californian Wine, or that can of tuna, that Koolaide, those imported sheets of toilet paper. We see those Nike trainers and demand the right to wear them, even if they cost US $400 and are made in sweat shops by those who are poorer than we are.





Also, because we are so poor to begin with, because we don't produce the essentials the western world wants anymore, gone are the days when our Bananas, Sugar and Rum commands good prices, the only way our governments can funtion is to tax everything that is imported.





I'm not saying I know all the answers, but look a the history of the US, the UK, France, Spain, and Japan or South Korea or Taiwan you will see how they became big powers. By producing their own food as much as possible and over taxing anything not produced in their country.





Now that they are on the top of the heap, they want to stay that way by making us into their lapdogs.





No! I say, Become self Sufficent.





Price controls will only help them, not us.
1. Why dey had to put that tax an alcohol?


2. Why good fete costing $300 or more?


3. KFC use to be $5 a box when I was in primary school. Now a good box is over $20


4. Why is it thousands ah dollars to play mas in a short pants or bikini?


5. Oh yeah, they should do somet'ing 'bout the food stuff and t'ing..yeah dat kinda important.
