Since price controls have never worked & all economists agree on this, why is the government still using them?

I'm not looking for a smart-*** answer. Can any liberal produce an example of when price controls actually worked?

They failed miserably throughout the seventies and continue to cause problems in New York City and San Francisco (in terms of rent control).

So... at what point can we deem this economic practice counterproductive and, therefore, unworthy of government usage?Since price controls have never worked %26amp; all economists agree on this, why is the government still using them?
1.People are Stupid

2. Elected Officials want to get reelected.

Elected officials are elected by people, who are stupid. People want elected officials to due what they want. But people are stupid and want stupid things done. Elected officials wanted to get reelected do stupid things to please the people.

And that is why we have rent control. Thankfully your not stupid and can spread some intelligence around. Good Luck, the world needs you.Since price controls have never worked %26amp; all economists agree on this, why is the government still using them?
when nobody benefits from it.

As of right now, you have a large and loud body of people who benefit from rent controls.
